How to block keywords or hashtags on Twitter

There may be times when your Twitter stream gets a little noisy (think large events, live tweets, TV show premieres, etc) and you may want to block certain keywords/hashtags but not unfollow an account. Unfortunately, Twitter doesn’t offer options to temporarily mute hashtags/keywords but Tweetdeck does:

Tweetdeck > Preferences > Global Filter > Choose Text Content, Author or Source

Text content = “iPad, #iPad, Foursquare”

Author = Twitter account of the person you’d like to mute (without unfollowing)

Source = Domain or URL that you’d like to block

When you want to unblock, go back into Settings > Global Filter > Remove

Facebook on Wednesday unveiled a new ad distribution agreement with TBS and its branded content partner, DumbDumb, that will see the social network distribute branded entertainment videos on its site, while TBS will distribute the same videos across its TV and digital properties.
